Today I’m going to talk about QR Codes, or “quick response codes”! I’m sure most of you have seen them…the funny looking pixelated squares that are printed and located on restaurant tables just about everywhere since the pandemic started? Well, they seem to be here to stay, and they have many other uses besides bringing up menus on your phones, so I thought I would discuss a few features and uses for them.
I mentioned before that they are used for connecting to restaurant menus; this was really important during the onset of the Covid pandemic due to the fact that no one wanted to touch anything! Especially not some nasty, food stained paper menu that hundreds, if not thousands of people had their hands on! But, even (dare I say “post”?) pandemic, they appear to be here to stay because they are just so darn convenient!
A couple of uses for these “quick response codes” are:
- Movie tickets! You can now purchase your movie tickets online, and instead of going through the trouble of printing out a receipt or ticket, you can simply retrieve your QR code from an email response message and show it to the theater for admission!
- Concert or special event tickets or admission. Just like the movies, concert and special event venues are using them now as well. It's so convenient and practical... AND you don't have to worry about losing your tickets. As long as you don't lose your phone!
- Goods and Services menus (i.e. car wash services)
We at Castle Hills Real Estate are also using QR Codes in our marketing! We are now actually putting them on all of our printed property flyers so that when a potential buyer wants to view a property tour video, all they have to do is scan the QR code, and it will take you to our video! How cool is that? Imagine as buyer how convenient that would be? Not only do you get the property information from the flyer, but you can actually watch a video of the home on the spot to determine whether or not you’re interested in setting up a showing to see it in person!
We are always looking for ways to better serve both Buyers and Sellers, and we think the use of the QR codes in our marketing is a step above and beyond what most real estate agents will do, so it was an easy decision for us to start including them on our property flyers.
